Cookie Consent & Tracker Transparency

Effective date: July 6, 2026 · Last reviewed: July 6, 2026

This page explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies this website uses, why, and how you can control them. We aim to keep this list accurate and limited to what the site actually uses — not a generic boilerplate list.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. "Similar technologies" includes things like local storage, which some browser features use to remember a choice (for example, your cookie-consent decision) without setting a traditional cookie.

2. What This Site Currently Uses

Category Source Purpose Duration
Strictly necessary Cloudflare (hosting provider) Baseline security, bot mitigation, and performance functions provided automatically by our hosting/CDN provider. These cannot be disabled without breaking core site functionality. Session / short-lived, per Cloudflare's own policies
Functionality This website (local storage, not a cookie) Remembers your cookie-consent choice so the banner does not reappear on every visit, and remembers your selected language (EN/JP) where applicable. Until you clear your browser storage
Third-party content Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) Loads the IBM Plex Mono, IBM Plex Sans, and Noto Sans JP typefaces used across the site. Loading fonts from Google's CDN means your device makes a direct request to Google's servers, which can receive your IP address as part of that request. Per Google's own font-serving infrastructure

3. What We Do Not Use

As of the effective date above, this site does not run advertising trackers, third-party analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics), social media pixels, or cross-site behavioral advertising tools. If this changes, this page will be updated to reflect the addition before any such technology goes live.

4. Managing Your Preference

When you first visit this site, a banner asks you to Accept or Decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored locally in your browser. Because the only "non-essential" item currently in use is a functional preference (language/consent memory) rather than a tracker, declining will not meaningfully change what the site collects — but the choice is recorded and respected regardless.

To reset your preference and see the banner again, clear your browser's local storage for this site, or use your browser's private/incognito mode.

5. Browser-Level Controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage through their settings menu. Doing so may affect the functionality of many websites, not just this one.

6. Changes to This Policy

If the mix of cookies, fonts, or third-party services used on this site changes — for example, if analytics or additional third-party integrations are added — this page will be updated and the "Last reviewed" date above will change accordingly.
